Pilis Falls in Bataan

Pilis Falls in Samal, Bataan

Are you a nature lover? Wander lust? Adventurer? Well this "hidden gem" falls in Bataan is one of my favorite spot! Why did I say that it is "hidden gem"? It is visited only by few people , the place where waterfalls is so relaxing, only you people visit here, greatly nature only. It also known by only few people, even the people in Bataan does not know that there is a Falls in Samal, Bataan.

At exactly 12:07pm we arrived at Pilis Falls at Sitio Pilis.

My first time here and this is my first viral photo! Hahaha
Thank you Bataan Weather Page!

Btw I'm a cyclist, I use to travel 3 years ago by commute or sometimes I have a friend that has
a vehicle and we will go to the nearest jump off then walk all throughout the place. But now I learned how to ride a mountain bike and with the right people I was able to manage to get on these places only by using Mountain Bike, and these are my friends!

These are the trails now in Sitio Pilis. After 3 years I've manage to comeback here, the trails are clean and it is more civilized, added new bridge and more plants are being planted. We leave our bikes for safety, since it has so many river crossing and some of the river are above the knee,  we put lock on our bikes and put it in somewhere we can see it easily find.

HOW TO GET HERE?

From Manila you need to ride on Bataan provincial buses. Either of the two:
Bataan Transit (Highway)
Genesis(Mariveles/Highway)

Then tell the driver/conductor that you are going to Caltex Samal, Bataan, you can also say Pepermill in Roman Superhighway, Samal, Bataan or BPSU Abucay Campus or formerly called BNAS Abucay(kanto ng BNAS). Or

Then ride a tricycle and tell the driver that you are going to Brgy Palili, Samal, Bataan or if you have a car or any vehicle proceed already in Barangay Hall of Palili, Samal.

Coordinate with the DENR, they are also located in Barangay Hall, just pay 30-60 pesos environmental fee. Then you will log in your names and will give you a guide. Last time we just pay 300 pesos for the guide since he is just a teen ager. For first timers it will took 2-4 hours of hiking, for experts it will only took more than 1 hour from the Barangay Hall.

Enjoy! I hope you will come and visit Bataan soon, explore it's beauty with love in your hearts and peace in your mind. God Bless! :)
